MORE MORO: 97 Points
This Fruit beer is released seasonally in Spring in 12 oz. bottles.
Brewer’s Description: “Blood Orange IPA. We ceremoniously slaughtered heaps of crimson-fleshed “Moro” fruit to retrieve its delicious ichor, and then blended it with caramel malts and grapefruity hops.”
My Description: Bring on Spring, this is the perfect beer to leave Winter behind. It begins with a weak head that fades quickly leaving nothing behind, probably from all the fruit juice. The aroma is very inviting because of how accurately it smells like a blood orange; there are also grapefruit hop undertones that add that IPA character. More Moro is medium bodied with a moderate carbonation level and a semi-dry finish. The flavor profile follows the nose closely with bright citrus hop notes that taste like the real deal. It almost feels like they juiced a bunch of oranges and then just added some hops to it. As the beer warms up a bit grapefruit hop notes become more apparent and taste great. This beer is slightly acidic and moderately bitter with a smooth texture. This is a really nice fruit beer that doesn’t taste like a novelty, it is well made. It is best served around 45°F and pairs nicely with Hawaiian pizza, fruit salads, or spicy Thai noodles.
